Role Overview The Department Manager – Fashion is responsible for owning the complete performance of the Fashion department. This role leads sales, profitability, customer experience, visual merchandising, inventory management, and people development while ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

As a business leader within the store, you will drive commercial performance, build a high-performing team, and deliver an exceptional shopping experience that reflects Broadway's standards.

Key Responsibilities

Business Ownership

- Own the sales, profitability, and overall performance of the Fashion department.
- Deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets.
- Drive key retail KPIs including conversion, Average Bill Value (ABV), Units Per Transaction (UPT), and repeat customer engagement.
- Analyse sales trends and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute action plans to achieve department objectives.

Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Team Leads and Fashion Advisors.
- Conduct regular floor coaching, performance reviews, and daily team briefings.
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and customer excellence.
- Identify training needs and ensure continuous product and selling skill development.
- Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, attendance, and productivity.

Customer Experience
- Deliver an elevated and personalized shopping experience.
- Lead by example in customer interactions and styling consultations.




- Resolve customer escalations promptly while maintaining high service standards.
- Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.

Visual Merchandising
- Ensure the department consistently meets Broadway's visual merchandising standards.
- Execute seasonal launches, promotions, and brand campaigns.
- Maintain attractive product displays that enhance customer engagement and sales.
- Partner with Visual Merchandising teams to ensure timely implementation of layouts and displays.

Inventory & Operations
- Ensure optimal stock availability across all categories.
- Monitor inventory health, replenishment, transfers, and stock movement.
- Minimise shrinkage through strong inventory controls and operational discipline.
- Ensure accurate stock counts and support periodic inventory audits.
- Maintain department hygiene, safety, and operational standards.

Brand & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with partner brands to improve product availability, sell-through, and customer engagement.
- Support new brand launches and promotional activations.
- Ensure brand standards are maintained while aligning with Broadway's retail experience.

Reporting & Commercial Excellence
- Review business performance through daily and weekly reporting.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
- Track sales productivity, staffing efficiency, inventory performance, and customer feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, billing processes,



and SOPs.

Skills & Competencies
- Solid commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive sales and profitability.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of fashion retail, styling, and customer preferences.
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into business actions.
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Customer-centric mindset with exceptional problem-solving ability.
- High ownership, accountability, and execution focus.

Preferred Experience

- 4–8 years of experience in fashion retail, lifestyle retail, or department stores.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading a department or large retail team.
- Experience managing multiple fashion categories, including apparel, footwear, handbags, accessories, or premium lifestyle brands.
- Exposure to modern retail formats and KPI-driven environments is preferred.

Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- A degree or diploma in Fashion, Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
