About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Team Lead Data Engineer with 12–15 years of experience who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and business engagement capabilities. This role requires a self-driven professional who can independently lead data initiatives, engage directly with business stakeholders, gather and analyze requirements, and translate business challenges into scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will not wait for tasks to be assigned but will proactively identify opportunities, recommend innovative solutions, and drive projects from concept through implementation and production support.

They will serve as a trusted technical advisor, influencing architectural decisions, mentoring team members, and ensuring successful delivery of high-quality data solutions for the US education industry.

Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows across multiple systems.

- Work with stakeholders in the US education domain to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-optimized data models.

Responsibilities • Take complete ownership of data engineering initiatives from business requirement gathering through design, development, deployment, and production support.

- Engage directly with business stakeholders, product owners, and leadership teams to understand business objectives and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead discovery sessions, requirement workshops,



and technical discussions while providing strategic recommendations based on data and business needs.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, data quality, and data architecture rather than waiting for assigned tasks.
- Act as the primary technical advisor for data engineering initiatives, recommending best practices, technology improvements, and scalable solution designs.
- Drive solution architecture and technical decision-making while ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects, prioritize deliverables, manage risks, and ensure timely execution with minimal supervision.
- Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, product managers, business analysts, and leadership teams to define data strategies and long-term roadmaps.
- Present technical solutions, implementation approaches, and project updates to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure data solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with organizational standards and governance policies.

Required Qualifications • 12–15 years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL, and database development.

- Strong expertise in SQL (complex queries,



optimization, indexing, stored procedures).
- Proven experience working with data in the US education industry (student information systems, enrollment data, compliance reporting, accreditation, etc.).
- Hands-on expertise with Tableau and Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, data warehousing concepts, and BI best practices.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or GCP BigQuery).
- Knowledge of Python, Spark, or other data processing frameworks is a plus.
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
