Job summary: Responsible for smooth functioning of Nuclear Medicine department. Diagnose and treat diseases using Nuclear medicine techniques and radioactive materials. May monitor radionuclide preparation, administration, and disposition.

1. Evaluate molecular, physiological, metabolic conditions of the patient to make the appropriate decisions in diagnosis, treatment and research.
2. Advise other physicians of the clinical indications, limitations, assessments, or risks of diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radioactive materials, Test results, possible outcomes etc
3. Check and approve the quality of diagnostic images and PET/CT whole body.
4. Perform I-131, investigation and therapy of thyrotoxicosis & cancer thyroid.
5. Perform general gamma camera scans.
6. Consult with patients following radiation treatments to provide information and assess outcomes or to recommend further consultation or treatments as appropriate.
7. 1. Direct nuclear medicine technologists or technicians regarding desired dosages,

- Techniques, positions, and projections.
- Establish and enforce radiation protection standards for patients and staff.
- Formulate plans and procedures for nuclear medicine departments.




- Monitor cleanup of radioactive spills to ensure that proper procedures are followed and decontamination activities are conducted.
- Review procedure requests and patients' medical histories to determine applicability of procedures and radioisotopes to be used.
- Monitor handling of radioactive materials to ensure that established procedures are followed.
- Provide advice on the selection of nuclear medicine supplies or equipment.
- Direct the safe management and disposal of radioactive substances.
- Monitor quality control of radionuclide preparation, administration, or disposition ensuring that activities comply with applicable regulations and standards.
- Perform cardiovascular nuclear medicine procedures such as exercise testing and pharmacologic stress testing.
- To ensure radiation safety during storage, handling, transport of the isotopes within the premises and during administration to the patient.
- Monitoring equipment to ensure that correct and consistent results or outputs are achieved and ensuring that ongoing maintenance routines are followed;
- Follow BMCHRC rules & regulations.
- Any other skilled work as assigned by Top management.
