The Compliance Assurance Specialist plays an key role in delivering effective, risk-based compliance assurance across the EMAP region. This role is suited to someone who can lead assigned assurance reviews independently, apply sound judgment in regulated environments, and work credibly with stakeholders on findings, risks, and remediation.
You will be responsible for delivering compliance assurance reviews in line with the Global Compliance Management Programme and the annual EMAP Compliance Assurance Plan. You will assess risks and controls, carry out testing, report findings clearly, and support the business in driving actions through to resolution. What you’ll be doing in this role Deliver assurance reviews end to end
Execute compliance assurance reviews in line with the annual EMAP Compliance Assurance Plan and agreed timelines
Define testing approach and review activities for assigned engagements
Conduct fieldwork, testing, and fact-finding activities with a high standard of accuracy and professionalism
Maintain robust working papers and clear review documentation Assess findings and support remediation
Analyse control effectiveness and identify areas of compliance risk
Prepare clear, well-structured reports that set out findings, risks, conclusions, and required actions
Work with business owners and management to agree practical remediation plans
Track agreed actions through to closure and escalate high-risk issues where appropriate Support governance and stakeholder engagement
Use Archer to maintain accurate records and track issues, deliverables, and review progress
Build a broad understanding of the business and the regulatory environment in which Experian operates
Engage confidently with stakeholders to support effective management of compliance risk
Support the business in strengthening controls and addressing issues identified through reviews Contribute insight from reviews
Share review insights and recurring themes to support continuous improvement in assurance activity
Contribute to a consistent, high-quality approach to assurance delivery across the region
Support the wider Compliance function in meeting its regulatory obligations with a high standard of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment What we’re looking for Experience and judgment
Around 3 years of experience in monitoring, testing, assurance, or audit within regulatory compliance
Experience working in a substantial regulated organisation, ideally in Financial Services
Strong analytical capability and sound judgment when assessing complex issues, controls, and risks
Ability to operate independently while knowing when to escalate
Technical and functional capability
Good working knowledge of privacy and data protection regulation and its key principles
Experience delivering assurance or testing reviews and documenting findings clearly
Strong investigation, analysis, and report-writing skills
Attention to detail and the ability to manage work accurately and consistently
Stakeholder and communication strength
Ability to communicate in a clear, structured, and credible way
Confidence working with business stakeholders to discuss findings, risks, and actions
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a regional team
Strong communication skills in English Desirable
Professional audit qualification such as ACCA, CIA, or CISA
