Roles and Responsibilities : Commis position in Pastry & Confectionary specialization
- Recipe Execution: Accurately prepare and execute all recipes according to established recipes and brand standards to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all prepared items maintain the highest standards of quality, flavor, and visual appeal.
- Food Safety & Cleanliness: Follow safe food handling practices at all times and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Expiry & Freshness Checks: Regularly check expiry dates of all ingredients and prepared items to maintain food safety and quality.
- Equipment Handling: Operate and monitor kitchen equipment safely, including mixers and attachments, and sanitize equipment and work areas after use.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Participate in stock control, inventory management, and proper rotation of ingredients to minimize wastage.
- Daily Ordering & Inventory Sheets: Take daily stock inventory and prepare ordering sheets to ensure timely replenishment of ingredients.
- Team Supervision & Training: Supervise junior staff, assign daily tasks, and provide guidance and training to ensure efficient workflow and skill development.
- Coordination with Kitchen Teams:
Work closely with the senior chef and other kitchen sections to address product requirements, maintenance issues, and staff coordination.
- Hygiene & Safety Monitoring: Monitor hygiene practices, safety procedures, and proper storage of all food items throughout the kitchen.
- Attendance & Roster Management: Maintain accurate attendance records, prepare weekly staff rosters, and manage overtime efficiently.
- Leadership by Example: Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and personal hygiene to set a standard for the team.
- Teamwork & Inter-departmental Relations: Promote teamwork, efficiency, and maintain positive relationships across kitchen and other departments.
