- Sound knowledge of estimation of quantities for different items of work of civil and structural works for substation
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical sub-stations (hands on working experience on design of sub-stations of at least 400KV level) in the areas of civil & structure engineering (steel & concrete structures) and ancillary civil works so that estimation of quantities for these works can be made.
- Should have experience on both outdoor Air insulated and indoor Gas insulated sub-stations
- Basic understanding of sub-station layouts.
- In-depth understanding of various standards and norms (BIS, IEC, CBIP, CEA, IEEE, NBC) used in sub-stations
- In-depth knowledge of design considerations of various equipment structures/ foundations like GIS, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, disconnectors, power transformers, reactors, cable trenches, etc used in power transmission industry
- Interfacing between electrical, civil,
structural and mechanical systems of the sub-station
- Ability to prepare complete civil BOQ and draft specifications for inviting of prices
- Ability to assess critical aspects of execution during tender stage.
Communication
- Positive presentation skills, should have the capability to prepare & deliver presentations on technical topics
- Preparation of technical reports, specification documents, etc
- Ability to lead discussions with internal and external stake holders, especially on technical topics
- Preparation of periodic reports for internal and external reviews.
- Computer literacy
- Should be proficient in use of STAAD Pro, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and CAD tools like AutoCAD, including 3D CAD tools.
