Position Summary The Resin Formulation specialist is responsible for the research, development, optimization, and commercialisation of epoxy resin systems for industrial applications. This role involves designing innovative formulations, improving existing products, solving technical challenges, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting manufacturing and customer technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize resin formulations for coatings, adhesives, composites, flooring, encapsulation, electrical insulation, and construction applications.
- Select and evaluate epoxy resins, curing agents, hardeners, accelerators, reactive diluents, fillers, pigments, additives, and performance modifiers.
- Design laboratory experiments to improve mechanical strength, chemical resistance, adhesion, thermal stability, cure speed, viscosity, and processing characteristics.
- Perform formulation testing and analyze physical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
- Scale up laboratory formulations to pilot and commercial production while ensuring manufacturing consistency.
- Troubleshoot formulation and production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, Procurement, and Technical Service teams during product development and commercialization.




- Prepare technical documentation including formulation records, technical data sheets, specifications, test reports, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Support customers by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and product recommendations.
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, raw materials, and competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Mentor junior chemists and laboratory technicians when required.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Polymer Science or Chemistry is preferred.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in resin formulation and product development.
- Strong understanding of epoxy chemistry, curing mechanisms, polymer crosslinking, and formulation principles.
- Experience with amine, anhydride, phenalkamine, polyamide, cycloaliphatic, and other curing systems.
- Hands-on experience with formulation ingredients including fillers, pigments, additives, flexibilizers, toughening agents, and rheology modifiers.
- Experience in laboratory testing and characterization techniques for epoxy systems.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and product validation processes.
- Proficiency in laboratory documentation, statistical analysis, and formulation software.
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of coatings, adhesives, composites, electrical insulation, construction chemicals, or flooring systems.
- Experience in product scale-up and manufacturing support.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and relevant ASTM or ISO test methods.
- Understanding of global chemical regulations and product stewardship.
- Ability to manage multiple R&D; projects simultaneously.
- Strong customer-facing technical support experience.
