The Category Head - Foundation will own the academic vision, product strategy, execution quality and business performance of Rays' Foundation portfolio for Classes 8-10. The role is accountable for building a rigorous, engaging learning journey that strengthens school performance while creating a strong base for Olympiads and future competitive examinations.
Key Responsibilities
Category strategy and ownership. Define the three-year vision and annual operating plan for the Foundation category, including student segments, program architecture, delivery formats, pricing inputs, enrolment goals and expansion priorities.
Academic product leadership. Own curriculum design across Mathematics, Science and Mental Ability, ensuring alignment with relevant school boards and a progressive pathway toward Olympiads and competitive-exam readiness.
Curriculum and content quality. Establish academic standards for lesson plans, study material, question banks, practice sheets, assessments, doubt-resolution systems and revision programs; institute structured review and version-control processes.
Student outcomes. Set learning benchmarks by class and subject; use diagnostic, formative and summative assessments to identify gaps and drive timely academic interventions.
Faculty leadership. Build, mentor and retain a strong team of academic leads and faculty; define selection standards, onboarding, certification, classroom-observation and continuous-development systems.
Delivery excellence. Ensure consistent student experience across centres and online/hybrid formats through academic calendars, SOPs, audit mechanisms and rapid issue resolution.
Data and analytics. Create dashboards for attendance, engagement, syllabus completion, assessment performance, faculty effectiveness, retention and parent/student feedback; translate insights into action.
Growth partnership. Partner with marketing,
admissions and centre teams on positioning, seminars, scholarship tests, parent engagement and conversion initiatives while protecting academic credibility.
Cross-functional execution. Work closely with operations, technology, content production, finance and HR to deliver programs on time, within budget and at the required quality.
Governance and innovation. Track curriculum changes, learner needs and category trends; pilot new formats and tools responsibly while maintaining child safety, academic integrity and compliance.

What Success Looks Like
First 90 days: Complete a category diagnostic, align the academic roadmap, establish operating rhythms and identify priority interventions.
Within 6 months: Strengthen curriculum and assessment quality, implement faculty capability systems and make student-performance dashboards actionable.
Within 12 months: Deliver visible gains in student outcomes, retention, faculty consistency and category growth while building a scalable Foundation model.
