Job Title: Operations Manager / Store Manager

Patil Medical Book House (PMBH), Pune, is looking for an experienced and responsible Operations Manager / Store Manager to manage the complete day-to-day operations of our medical book distribution and retail business.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the store, warehouse, inventory, order processing, dispatch, staff, customer service, and overall operational activities. The person should have strong leadership skills and be capable of independently managing a team of approximately 10 employees.

This is a senior-level role where the candidate is expected to take full ownership of daily operations, make decisions, solve operational issues, and ensure that all activities are completed smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage complete day-to-day operations of the store and warehouse.
- Lead, supervise, and manage a team of 10+ staff members.
- Allocate daily work and monitor staff productivity and performance.
- Manage inventory, stock availability, stock checking, and stock accuracy.
- Supervise purchase orders, sales orders, billing, packing, and dispatch.
- Coordinate with publishers, suppliers, book sellers, colleges, libraries, and retail customers.
- Ensure orders are processed and delivered on time.
- Monitor pending orders, back orders, returns, and replacements.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and operational issues.
- Maintain proper discipline, attendance, and work processes within the team.
- Coordinate with the accounts team regarding billing, payments, outstanding amounts, and collections.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Identify operational problems and take corrective action.
- Develop and implement better systems and processes for inventory and order management.




- Ensure proper documentation and systematic maintenance of business records.
- Take responsibility for achieving operational targets and improving overall efficiency.
- Report directly to the Owner and provide regular updates on business operations.
- Act as the main point of contact between the Owner and the operational team.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a mature, responsible, and experienced professional who can take ownership of the entire operation and manage the business as if it were their own.

The ideal candidate should be:

- A strong team leader and people manager.
- Positive at planning, coordination, and execution.
- Strong in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proactive and capable of working independently.
- Disciplined, honest, responsible, and target-oriented.
- Good in communication and customer handling.
- Comfortable working with MS Excel, billing/ERP software, and inventory systems.

Experience Required: 5–10+ years in Operations Management, Retail, Distribution, Wholesale, Book Distribution, Warehouse Management, or a similar industry.

Education: Graduate preferred.

Salary: ₹25000– ₹30000 per month, depending on experience and capability + Performance Incentives.

Location: Pune

Important: This is not a routine store-supervisor position. We are looking for a person who can take complete responsibility for the operational side of the business, manage the team independently, and work closely with the Owner to grow and improve the business.For Indeed, I would use “Operations Manager” as the main job title rather than only “Store Manager,” because your requirement is much broader than store supervision.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
