We are an innovation-driven green tech startup pioneering next-generation sustainable urban infrastructure. Our core product integrates live moss cultures into eco-engineered paver blocks designed to actively generate oxygen, sequester carbon, trap air pollutants, and enhance urban green spaces. We are seeking an ambitious Botany or Biotechnology specialist (at or completing Master's level / Higher) with hands-on expertise in bryophyte tissue culture, propagation, and bio-maintenance to drive the live-biology integration of our paver block technology.

Key Responsibilities

?Moss Culture & Propagation: Establish, optimize, and maintain healthy axenic and ex-situ cultures of select moss species suitable for structural integration.

?Biomaterial Integration & Stress Testing: Test and monitor moss survival, hydration retention, and growth metrics when embedded in porous paver block substrates under varying atmospheric conditions.

? In-Situ Maintenance Protocols: Design scalable protocols for ongoing health, hydration, and pest/fungal management of moss-embedded blocks in urban outdoor environments.

? Cultivation Optimization: Evaluate species-specific growth rates, biomass production, and environmental resilience (temperature, drought, UV exposure).

? R&D; & Reporting: Record growth data, run comparative vitality trials,



and present findings to improve product longevity and biological efficiency.

Essential Qualifications

? Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Botany, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Environmental Biotechnology, or a related life sciences discipline.

?Bryophyte Expertise: Proven practical experience in isolating, culturing, and maintaining mosses (bryophytes) in laboratory or greenhouse settings.

?Conservation & Physiology Knowledge: Deep understanding of ex-situ (lab/greenhouse) propagation techniques and in-situ ecological conservation/maintenance strategies.

Qualifications (Preferred Edge)

? Substrate & Material Experience: Prior exposure to growing plants or lower plant systems on porous matrices, bio-composites, concrete/mortar surfaces, or hydroponic/aeroponic media.

? Environmental Stress Physiology: Familiarity with desiccation tolerance, poikilohydric plant mechanics, and acclimatization protocols for transferring lab cultures to outdoor settings.

?Scale-Up & Bio-Engineering Skills: Experience transitioning bench-scale cultures to medium/large-scale cultivation systems (e.g., bio-reactors, mass propagation beds). Ability to work flexibly in an early-stage startup setting, troubleshoot practical biological challenges independently, and collaborate with material scientists or civil engineers will be appreciated
