Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Professor of Psychiatry to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, provide high-quality patient care, and actively participate in research and academic activities. The candidate should possess the qualifications and experience prescribed by the National Medical Commission.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver lectures, clinical demonstrations, and bedside teaching for MBBS and postgraduate students.

Supervise and mentor postgraduate residents, interns, and undergraduate students.

Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients.

Conduct outpatient (OPD), inpatient (IPD), emergency, and consultation-liaison psychiatric services.

Participate in departmental academic activities, including seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, and CMEs.

Guide and supervise research projects, dissertations, and publications.





Contribute to curriculum development and implementation.

Participate in departmental administration, quality assurance initiatives, and accreditation processes.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic patient care.

Maintain accurate clinical, academic, and research records.

Perform any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the Head of the Department or institution.

Qualification

MD in Psychiatry from a recognized medical institution.

Registration with the State Medical Council/NMC.

Must fulfill the eligibility criteria for Associate Professor as per NMC regulations.

Experience

Required teaching experience as per current NMC norms for the post of Associate Professor.

Experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

Proven experience in patient care, research, and academic administration is preferred.
