The Assistant Merchandiser provides support on all aspects of Overseas Sourcing for multiple product categories and is a strategic partner to our US Merchants and PSS team. Reporting to the Merchandiser, this role will identify/build/foster robust relations with factories / suppliers to drive our Merchant vision.

This person will play a key role in supporting the team in developing and executing the Merchants vision and product strategies. This role will work directly with factories to develop products and manage the production process to deliver to the Ross brand aesthetic, quality and value that meets the Merchant objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Provides sourcing and operational support on all aspects of the Ross India Merchandising process
- Works with factories / suppliers to execute product that meets our brand aesthetic, quality and value.
- Ensures accurate data related to product and manufacturing, metrics on development, adoption rate, and KPI’s and accurate supplier setup and onboarding.
- Maintains accurate data in vendor scorecard.
- Tracks and ensures that samples are sent in time.
- Review Pre Production & Top of Production samples and address concerns with Ross India Merchandising & Quality teams and updates US team; proactively work with vendors to mitigate risks.




- Track work in progress dates and proactively alert US team of any issues; partner with relevant teams to resolve issues.
- Reports & highlights capacity concerns and any potential delays / risks and other issues to their manager.
- Supports relationships with business partners internally and externally by responding to requests appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Participates in factory visits, learning production lines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles or commensurate required
- 3+ years’ related working experience; experience working in/working with factories
- Experience Sourcing and/or Technical in one of the pertinent categories (e.g., Home, Decorative Textiles , Center Core)
- Knowledge of product development and production process as well as technical aspects of the product (e.g., Materials, machinery, in home textile etc.)
- Previous experience with high SKU count at scale and multi category management.
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Entrepreneurial and willing to support negotiations at vendors
- Digital communication – Outlook Email, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with elements of quality and discerning eye.
