About the role:

- The Assistant Category Manager for Fruits & Vegetables will support end-to-end category operations, ensuring product availability, strong vendor performance,

- competitive pricing, and smooth day-to-day execution.

- The role requires strong negotiation skills, high integrity, and a hands-on approach to managing fill rates, stock movement, and supplier relationships. Similar fresh-category roles commonly focus on sourcing, availability monitoring, assortment, pricing, margins, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain fill rates and reduce stock-outs through proactive replenishment and close coordination with vendors and operations teams.

- Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors and suppliers for fresh produce.

- Negotiate pricing, quality, commercial terms, service levels, and supply commitments.

- Monitor inventory levels, wastage, ageing, and shrinkage to ensure effective category performance.

Required Skills

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

- Good understanding of fresh produce operations and daily replenishment.

- Ability to manage fill rates, availability, and stock planning.

- High level of integrity, ownership, and accountability.

- Experience 3-5 years
