We are looking for a hands-on and responsible Assistant Café Manager who can manage café operations as well as personally handle coffee, beverages and basic cooking/food preparation. The candidate should be comfortable managing the team while also supporting day-to-day café work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Café Manager in managing daily café operations.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, juices, shakes and other beverages.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines and other café equipment.
- Prepare basic food items, snacks and light cooking as required.
- Ensure proper taste, quality and presentation of food and beverages.
- Supervise and guide café staff, including baristas and service staff.
- Personally support the team during busy hours.
- Ensure excellent customer service and a pleasant café experience.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
- Monitor food and beverage stock and coordinate purchase requirements.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Maintain proper hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients.
- Manage daily opening and closing activities.
- Assist with billing and maintain daily sales records.
- Monitor staff attendance, grooming and discipline.
- Coordinate with the showroom team for smooth customer service.
- Ensure the café area, kitchen and equipment are clean and well maintained.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Café, Restaurant, Hotel or Food & Beverage operations preferred.
- Must have hands-on experience in coffee/beverage preparation and basic cooking.
- Knowledge of espresso/coffee machine operation is preferred.
- Ability to prepare basic snacks and light food items.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Strong team-management and leadership skills.
- Should be willing to work hands-on and support the café team.
- Pleasant personality and professional grooming.
- Basic billing and computer knowledge is an advantage.
