Company Description Unitary is an architectural design studio based in the experimental universal township of Auroville, working at the intersection of design, research, and education. The studio focuses on exploring the relationships between architectural materiality, phenomenology, and bioclimatic design.
These explorations inform an integral design process aimed at creating holistic, context-responsive architecture. Team members collaborate across disciplines and are encouraged to engage with both theoretical and practical aspects of the built environment. Unitary offers a setting where creative inquiry and applied design practice reinforce each other.
Role Description The Architect at Unitary will be responsible for developing architectural concepts, preparing detailed drawings, and producing design documentation for projects from early stages through execution. Day-to-day work includes coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, conducting site analyses, integrating bioclimatic and material research into design solutions, and ensuring designs align with project requirements and local regulations.
The role also involves participating in design critiques, contributing to research and educational initiatives, and supporting project management activities such as timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Puducherry, requiring close collaboration with the studio team and involvement in local project contexts.
