Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer to provide production support for mission-critical applications in a Capital Markets environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in L1/L2 application support, incident management, Linux, SQL, and production monitoring. Candidates from Institutional Broking, Investment Banking, Trading Platforms, Stock Exchanges, or Capital Market organizations will be preferred.

Experience supporting Algorithmic Trading, OMS/EMS, FIX Protocol, or Electronic Trading applications will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2 production and application support for business-critical applications.
- Monitor production systems and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Perform incident, problem, and change management while adhering to SLAs.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and database issues.
- Analyze application logs, Linux server logs, and SQL queries for root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with Development, Infrastructure, Network, Database, and Business teams during production incidents.
- Support production releases, deployments, and post-release validation.
- Prepare RCA documents, operational runbooks, and knowledge base articles.




- Participate in weekend releases and on-call production support whenever required.

Required Skills
- 35 years of experience in Application/Production Support.
- Solid Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Good knowledge of SQL for data validation and issue analysis.
- Experience with Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
- Experience using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, Geneos, Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in Capital Markets, Institutional Equities, Investment Banking, Brokerage, or Stock Exchange environments.
- Exposure to FIX Protocol, Algorithmic Trading, OMS/EMS, Market Data, or Order Management Systems.
- Knowledge of trading lifecycle, market connectivity, and exchange interfaces.
- Experience with batch scheduling tools such as Control-M or Autosys.
- Shell scripting or Python automation experience is an added advantage.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and production support best practices.
