Job Description: A Store Helper in a steel plant supports the Store Keeper cum Supervisor by managing the physical inventory of heavy raw materials, spare parts, and finished goods . They ensure the secure loading, organized stacking, and accurate movement of materials while keeping the warehouse clean and strictly adhering to industrial safety protocols. - Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and transport heavy raw materials (scrap, billets), steel products, and industrial consumables using manual labor or lifting equipment. [1]
- Inventory Assistance: Organize stock in storage areas and assist the Storekeeper with physical inventory counts, tracking, and reporting discrepancies . [1]
- Tool & Equipment Issuance: Assist in the issuing and receiving of mechanical and electrical tools, welding rods, and maintenance spares to plant workers . [1]
- Housekeeping: Keep the storeroom and shop floor free of debris, scrap,



and potential safety hazards. [1]
- Safety Compliance: Follow strict plant safety guidelines and ensure proper stacking and handling of steel, especially when using cranes or forklifts. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Minimum 10th or 12th-grade pass; higher secondary education is preferred.
- Physical Fitness: High stamina and capability to perform heavy manual labor in demanding, high-heat industrial environments.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of prior factory, foundry, or warehouse experience.
- Tool Familiarity: Basic knowledge of handling and identifying steel profiles, pipes, and industrial workshop tools. [1, 2]
