Costing Chemist

- Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare product-wise costing based on raw materials, packaging materials, processing, and manufacturing expenses.
- Calculate Batch Manufacturing Cost (BMC) and cost per unit.
- Prepare and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) and standard costing sheets.
- Calculate raw material quantities and costs according to product formulations and batch sizes.
- Monitor and update raw material and packaging material prices.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality Control, R&D;, and Accounts departments for accurate costing.
- Analyze variations between standard cost and actual production cost.
- Prepare quotations and cost estimates for new and existing products.
- Maintain records of product formulations, batch sizes, yields, and consumption norms for costing purposes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising product quality.
- Verify material consumption, wastage, yield, and process-related costs.




- Support management in pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
- Maintain accurate costing reports and documentation in MS Excel/ERP.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of product formulations and costing information.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of pharmaceutical/Ayurvedic/herbal product costing.
- Understanding of raw materials, formulations, batch manufacturing, and packaging.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and basic data analysis.
- Valuable analytical and numerical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- QualificationB.Sc. / M.Sc. Chemistry
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc. in relevant pharmaceutical or life-science discipline may also be considered.
- Candidates with experience in pharmaceutical, Ayurvedic, herbal, nutraceutical, or FMCG manufacturing will be preferred.

Experience1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
