Role Summary:-

Experienced Payments Business Analyst with solid expertise in ISO 20022 payment messaging, payment data normalization, canonical data modeling, and PSP/merchant onboarding. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing payment message formats from various Payment Service Providers (PSPs), acquirers, gateways, processors, and card networks, normalizing them against ISO 20022 standards, and creating enterprise-wide Master (Mother) Schemas using canonical fields.

Key Responsibilities :-

Payment Message Analysis & Normalization

- Analyze payment schemas received from PSPs, card processors, gateways, and acquirers.
- Review payment message definitions available through XSD/XML, JSON, REST APIs, SOAP services, and proprietary formats.
- Normalize payment data structures according to ISO 20022 standards.
- Identify business and technical differences between provider-specific schemas.
- Create common payment data definitions across multiple providers.
- Define field-level mapping between source schemas and canonical schemas.

ISO 20022 Data Modelling

- Design normalized payment structures aligned with ISO 20022 principles.
- Map PSP-specific fields to ISO 20022 elements whenever applicable.
- Analyze payment lifecycle message types including:
- Authorization
- Capture
- Settlement
- Refund
- Void
- Reversal
- Chargeback
- Tokenization




- Recurring Payments

- Interpret message structures and understand relationships between:

- Header fields
- Payment instruction data
- Merchant data
- Customer data
- Card data
- Tokenized payment data
- Settlement data

Canonical Data Model & Mother Schema Design

- Design and maintain enterprise payment canonical data models.
- Create Mother Schemas containing reusable canonical payment fields.
- Define:
- Field Names
- Data Types
- Mandatory/Optional Indicators
- Validation Rules
- Default Values
- Business Definitions
- Build Field Registry and Canonical Dictionary.
- Identify duplicate, redundant, and vendor-specific fields.
- Drive standardization across all payment integrations.

Data Mapping & Transformation

- Create detailed mapping documents between:
- Source Schema
- Canonical Schema
- ISO 20022 Reference Model
- Define transformation rules.
- Identify derived fields.
- Document business rules and validation logic.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on transformation implementation.
