A Software Engineer on this team delivers high-quality software within a defined scope, operating with moderate autonomy. They work independently on well-scoped technical problems, own the reliability of the components they build, and escalate cross-team or system-wide challenges to senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Execution Delivery

- Writes clean, maintainable, and reusable code using established patterns and libraries
- Delivers features from requirements to production with minimal guidance
- Estimates work accurately and communicates progress and risks clearly
- Applies appropriate trade-offs between speed, quality, complexity, and cost

Quality Testing

- Writes automated tests that ensure correctness and enable secure changes
- Maintains and improves test suites alongside production code
- Identifies gaps in test coverage and addresses them proactively

System Ownership Reliability

- Owns the operational health of services handling high-volume, low-latency workloads
- Participates in on-call rotations; investigates and resolves production issues within agreed service levels
- Contributes to root cause analysis and implements fixes to prevent recurrence
- Improves observability and maintains runbooks to support effective operations

Domain Integrations

- Builds and maintains integrations for multimedia content processing,



including asset management, moderation, and fraud detection
- Integrates with external vendors and AI/ML services to unlock new product capabilities
- Handles data following strict privacy and compliance requirements

Design Technical Contribution

- Participates in design discussions and proposes solutions within their area of ownership
- Evaluates technical options by considering requirements, constraints, and trade-offs
- Raises risks, limitations, and alternative approaches during design

Collaboration Communication

- Communicates clearly in code reviews, design discussions, and documentation
- Proactively connects with other teams to understand user flows and technical integrations
- Shares progress, blockers, and risks in a timely manner

Continuous Improvement

- Identifies opportunities to improve code, systems, and team practices
- Contributes to incremental improvements in development workflows and standards

Qualifications Requirements

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale, high-availability distributed systems
- Proficiency in one or more of: Java, Go, or equivalent systems languages; familiarity with Perl is a plus
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Familiarity with multimedia formats and image or video processing pipelines (preferred)
- Strong written and spoken English
