B.Tech. / .E. / M.Sc. in Physics, Electrical/Electronics Engg, Mechanical Engg, Instrumentation

Engg. or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade point average with relevant experience of six years, out of which three years should be at Level 7 (44900-142400) or one year should be at Level 8 (47600-151100) or equivalent.

OR

M.Tech. / M.E. in Physics & allied disciplines with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade point average with relevant experience of four years.

(For applicants with Ph.D. degree in Physics, Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation or allied

disciplines, duration of Ph.D. up to three years will be counted towards experience).

Job Description / Responsibilities

A. The selected candidate will be involved in day-to-day maintenance, operation,



in-house repair, and user training of several high-vacuum and cryogenic systems, in particular those using liquid Helium and Nitrogen. He/She will need to be able to design customized parts for in-house fabrication in the dept workshop.

B. The person will also need to interface with service engineers of OEM as and when required for

addressing technical issues, & administrative staff regarding purchase-related issues to some extent.

C. He will also need to be proficient in English and at least one other Indian language and have

positive communication skills to explain technical aspects to research students and run hands-on

lecture cum training sessions for sophisticated cryogenic equipment.

Compensation range

Pay: Pay Level 10 (Rs 56100 - Rs 177500)

(Gross Pay includes Basic Pay + Dearness allowance + House Rent Allowance + Transport

Allowance + Dearness allowance on Transport allowance)
