Job Summary
As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world. There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform IBM i system administration activities.
- Execute PTF maintenance and OS upgrade tasks.
- Manage system security and access controls.
- Monitor system performance and address operational issues.
- Support backup and recovery activities.
- Administer HMC, VIOS, LPARs and virtualized IBM Power environments.
- Perform troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Develop technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Support infrastructure projects and migrations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5-8 years of experience supporting enterprise IBM i production systems.
- Solid experience in IBM i (AS/400) administration, including system operations, user/security management, backup and recovery.
- Expertise in PowerVM, LPAR management, performance monitoring, tuning, and storage administration.
- Experience with performance analysis tools such as PDI and iDoctor (iDr).
- Knowledge of CL scripting, DB2/400, problem determination, and troubleshooting in production environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and public/private cloud environments, including on-premises to cloud migrations.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Experience with automation tools, including Ansible and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability enterprise environments.
