The Lead Reinforcement (Steel) will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and executing all reinforcement (rebar) activities at the project site. The role ensures that reinforcement work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and construction schedules while optimizing material consumption and minimizing wastage.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and execute all reinforcement (steel)works for the assigned project.
- Study and interpret structural drawings, Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and IFC drawings.
- Ensure reinforcement installation is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Verify steel quantities and monitor steel consumption against approved BBS.
- Control steel wastage and implement effective material utilization practices.
- Supervise reinforcement subcontractors and ensure productivity targets are achieved.
- Conduct inspection of reinforcement before concrete pouring and obtain necessary approvals.
- Maintain records related to steel consumption, reconciliation, and work progress.
- Support billing and quantity verification related to reinforcement activities.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of reinforcement detailing and Bar Bending Schedule (BBS).
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings.
- Knowledge of IS Codes and construction quality standards.
- Expertise in steel quantity estimation and reconciliation.
- Solid planning, coordination, and site execution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic construction management software.
