Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Vice President - Finance

Industry: NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company)

Location: Chennai - Chetpet

Reporting To: Managing Director

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced finance leader to head the Finance function of our rapidly growing NBFC. The CFO / VP Finance will be responsible for overseeing the company's entire financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving strategic financial planning, treasury management, budgeting, taxation, fund raising, and financial risk management.

The incumbent will work closely with the Managing Director, CEO, Board of Directors, Auditors, Lenders, Investors, Credit Rating Agencies, and Regulatory Authorities to support the company's growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Act as a strategic financial advisor to the MD and CEO.
- Drive profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
- Present financial insights and business recommendations to the Board.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

- Prepare annual budgets and business plans.
- Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance.
- Analyze business profitability, portfolio performance, and branch-wise financial metrics.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support expansion and growth.

3. Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Ensure accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger, accounting operations, and statutory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Accounting Standards (Ind AS)
- Maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems.

4. Treasury & Fund Management





- Manage liquidity and cash flow efficiently.
- Oversee treasury operations and optimize fund utilization.
- Establish relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors.
- Lead debt raising through banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, and capital markets.
- Manage borrowing costs and interest rate strategies.

5. Regulatory & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines applicable to NBFCs.
- Oversee all statutory compliances including GST, Income Tax, TDS, Companies Act, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate RBI inspections and regulatory audits.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, secretarial auditors, and regulators.

6. Risk Management

- Develop financial risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor liquidity, credit, operational, and market risks.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and governance practices.
- Ensure compliance with risk management frameworks.

7. Investor & Stakeholder Management

- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, credit rating agencies, and financial institutions.
- Lead due diligence processes for funding and strategic partnerships.
- Present financial performance and business updates to external stakeholders.

8. Taxation

- Oversee direct and indirect taxation.
- Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
- Lead tax planning initiatives and optimize tax efficiency.

9. Audit & Internal Controls

- Coordinate internal,



statutory, RBI, and concurrent audits.
- Strengthen internal control mechanisms.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Drive compliance culture across the organization.

10. Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor the Finance, Accounts, Treasury, Taxation, and Compliance teams.
- Build high-performing finance teams through coaching and development.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability within the finance function.

Educational Qualification

- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory.
- MBA (Finance) will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 12- 18+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within an NBFC, Bank, Housing Finance Company, or Financial Institution.
- Proven experience in fund raising, treasury, regulatory compliance, financial planning, and stakeholder management.
