We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop transparent, accurate, and user-friendly vehicle service documentation for electric and utility vehicles. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, quality, and service teams to translate complex technical information into structured manuals, repair procedures, diagnostic guides, and technical bulletins for technicians and service personnel.

This role requires excellent technical writing skills, a strong understanding of vehicle systems, and the ability to interpret engineering documentation to produce comprehensive service materials.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Documentation

- Develop, write, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including:
- Service and Repair Manuals
- Preventive Maintenance Schedules
- Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Guides
- Assembly and Disassembly Procedures
- Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

- Ensure documentation is clear, concise, accurate, and easy to understand for technicians and service personnel.

Cross-functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Embedded, Software, Quality, and Service Engineering teams to gather technical information.
- Participate in product reviews, engineering discussions, and design change meetings to stay aligned with product updates.
- Collaborate with field service teams to incorporate real-world service feedback into documentation.

Engineering Documentation

- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, wiring diagrams, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to create service-ready documentation.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into practical service procedures and repair instructions.
- Develop exploded views, illustrations, and step-by-step service instructions where required.

Documentation Standards & Version Control

- Standardize documentation formats, terminology, templates, and information architecture across all vehicle platforms.




- Ensure all documentation complies with internal quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain document version control, revision history, and document repositories.
- Update documentation to reflect engineering changes, product revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

- Review documentation for technical accuracy, consistency, grammar, and usability.
- Improve documentation based on technician feedback and field observations.
- Support the development of documentation processes and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related discipline.

Experience

- 3-7 years of experience as a Technical Writer in the Automotive, Electric Vehicle (EV), Heavy Vehicle, Industrial Equipment, or Manufacturing industries.
- Experience developing service manuals, maintenance documentation, repair guides, or technical publications for technicians.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience creating structured technical documentation for service and maintenance.
- Excellent written English with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and other technical documentation or authoring tools.
- Strong documentation planning, editing, and information organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with Electric Vehicles (EVs), utility vehicles, or off-highway equipment.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for viewing models and illustrations.
- Knowledge of service documentation standards, structured authoring, and technical publication best practices.
- Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems or document management systems.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and field service teams.
