Chief Security Officer (CSO)

Department: Administration / Security

Reporting To:

Group HR Head / Management Team

Job Purpose

The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the organization's employees, assets, infrastructure, visitors, and information by effectively managing physical security operations and CCTV surveillance systems. The CSO will establish security standards, monitor compliance, investigate incidents, and continuously improve security processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. CCTV Surveillance Functions

* Manage and supervise the CCTV Surveillance Team and Control Room operations.

* Ensure continuous 247 monitoring of all CCTV cameras installed across the facility.

* Verify that all CCTV cameras, NVRs/DVRs, monitors, and recording systems are functioning properly.

* Review live surveillance feeds and recorded footage for security incidents, accidents, theft, unauthorized access, and policy violations.

* Retrieve and preserve CCTV footage whenever required for investigations, audits, or legal purposes.

* Coordinate with IT and vendors for maintenance, repair, and upgrades of CCTV systems.

* Maintain CCTV recording backup and ensure compliance with the organization's data retention policy.

* Monitor alarm systems, access control systems, boom barriers, and visitor management systems integrated with CCTV.

* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly surveillance reports.

* Recommend improvements in camera placement, coverage, and surveillance technology.

2. Security Functions

* Lead and manage all security operations across the facility.

* Develop and implement security policies, SOPs, and emergency response procedures.





* Supervise Security Officers, Supervisors, Guards, and outsourced security personnel.

* Ensure effective access control for employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.

* Conduct regular patrols and security inspections of the premises.

* Prevent theft, pilferage, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized activities.

* Investigate security incidents and submit detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.

* Coordinate emergency response during fire, accidents, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and other crises.

* Ensure compliance with statutory security requirements and company policies.

* Liaise with local police, fire services, government authorities, and emergency agencies whenever required.

* Conduct periodic security risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.

* Monitor attendance, discipline, deployment, and performance of security personnel.

* Ensure security of company assets, materials, finished goods, and vehicles.

* Organize security awareness programs and emergency drills for employees.

* Monitor contractor compliance with security requirements.

* Maintain all security registers, visitor records, gate logs, vehicle movement registers, and incident records.

* Prepare MIS reports, security dashboards,



and monthly security performance reports for management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

* Zero major security breaches.

* CCTV system uptime above 99%.

* Timely incident detection and reporting.

* Compliance with security SOPs and statutory requirements.

* Effective emergency response and crisis management.

* Reduction in theft, pilferage, and security violations.

* Timely completion of investigations and corrective actions.

* High standards of visitor and access control management.

Qualification

* Graduate in any discipline. Degree/Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, Defence Studies, or related fields is preferred.

Experience

* Ex-service men experience is required and also 1020 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, corporate, or facility security is required.

* Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing security operations and CCTV surveillance.

Working Conditions

* Based at the manufacturing plant/corporate facility.

* Willingness to work beyond normal working hours during emergencies.

* Available for on-call support whenever required.
