Job Title: Production Engineer CNC / VMC / HMC

Job Location: Velapanchavadi / Gummidipoondi, Chennai

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to oversee CNC, VMC, and HMC machining operations in an automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in production line management, CNC machining processes, G-code understanding, and Statistical Process Control (SPC). The role requires ensuring production targets, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day production activities on CNC, VMC, and HMC machining lines.
- Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, productivity, and delivery schedules.
- Supervise shop-floor manpower and optimize machine utilization.
- Read and understand G-code and M-code for machining operations and basic program verification.
- Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor process capability and improve process stability.
- Analyze production losses, downtime, and rejection, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and PPC teams to ensure smooth production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Poka-Yoke.
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, safety standards,



and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain daily production reports and process documentation.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience with CNC, VMC, and HMC machining operations.
- Positive understanding of G-code and M-code.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, fixtures, and machining processes.
- Experience in production planning, manpower handling, and shop-floor management.
- Working knowledge of ERP/SAP will be an added advantage.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

- 6 to 15 years of experience in CNC, VMC, or HMC production in the automotive manufacturing industry.

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates from automotive component manufacturing companies with experience in precision machining, CNC production, and high-volume manufacturing are preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in handling CNC/VMC/HMC production lines.
- Strong knowledge of G-code, SPC, machining processes, and production planning..
