About the Role Deliver L2 operations for enterprise Linux servers, ensuring secure, stable, and compliant platforms across on prem and cloud. Key Responsibilities Implement/deploy servers; validate hardware/capacity; choose OS per app. Install/configure RHEL/SUSE/Ubuntu; repos/subscriptions; systemd; hardening (CIS). Identity/access: users/groups, chmod/chown/ACLs, sudo; AD/LDAP; fix SSH/login. Storage: ext4/XFS; LVM (VG/LV, extend/reduce); fstab; NFS/SMB; space/I/O troubleshooting. Networking: IP/DNS/gateway, bonding/VLAN/routing; firewalls (iptables/firewalld/ufw); diag (ping, ss, tcpdump, traceroute). Patch & security: apply updates; compliance; SELinux/AppArmor; fail2ban/auditd; vulnerability remediation. Monitoring & tuning: top/htop/vmstat/iostat/sar; Nagios/Zabbix/Prometheus; optimize CPU/mem/disk/net. Backup/DR: NetBackup/Veeam/rsync; verify restores; support DR. Automation: Bash; cron; basic Ansible. Apps/middleware (basic): Apache/Nginx; DNS/NTP; OS side troubleshooting.



Virtualization/cloud: VMware ops; KVM/Hyper V basics; AWS/Azure instances. Ops, docs & incidents: log mgmt/rotation; SOP builds; inventory docs; vendor coordination; firmware/BIOS; audits (security/patch/drift); RCA; P1/P2 within SLAs; collaborate with L3. Required Skills & Qualifications 3 6 years Linux admin (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu/SUSE); shell scripting; LVM/filesystems; networking/security. Monitoring tools; basic virtualization/cloud; Ansible basics. Robust troubleshooting, communication, documentation; on call rotation. Bachelor s in IT/CS or equivalent experience. Certifications (Preferred) RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, SUSE Certified Administrator, ITIL Foundation. Nice to Have Docker/Kubernetes exposure; Puppet; security/compliance frameworks.
