Role & responsibilities

Material Testing & Analysis

- Perform metallurgical testing including chemical analysis, microstructure evaluation, hardness testing, and mechanical testing as per standards.
- Interpret test results and verify compliance with material specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
- Inspect and approve raw materials, in-process samples, and finished components from a metallurgical perspective.
- Maintain metallurgical laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and testing accuracy.

Heat Treatment Process Monitoring

- Monitor and validate heat treatment processes such as hardening, tempering, carburizing, and nitriding.
- Verify furnace parameters, process records, and metallurgical characteristics to ensure process consistency.
- Coordinate with production and external heat treatment suppliers to resolve process-related issues.

Failure Analysis & Problem Solving

- Conduct metallurgical investigations for production defects, internal rejections, and customer complaints.




- Support root cause analysis using metallurgical techniques and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare metallurgical inspection reports, test records, and laboratory documentation.
- Support internal, customer, and certification audits related to metallurgical processes.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Metallurgy / Materials Engineering with 37 years of experience in metallurgical testing, heat treatment, or quality within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Certification in Heat Treatment, Metallurgical Testing, or Quality Management.
- Knowledge of metallurgical testing and laboratory practices.
- Understanding of ferrous materials, heat treatment processes, and metallurgical properties.
- Ability to interpret metallurgical test results and material specifications.
- Experience in automotive / forging / machining workplace
