Role & responsibilities

- Plan and supervise daily fettling activities to achieve production targets.
- Allocate manpower and assign work based on the production schedule.
- Monitor grinding, cutting, chipping, and cleaning operations to ensure quality standards.
- Ensure castings are processed as per drawings, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, NDT, and Dispatch departments for smooth workflow.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap, and implement corrective actions to reduce defects.
- Ensure all operators follow safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
- Maintain discipline, housekeeping (5S), and secure working conditions in the department.
- Verify daily production reports, manpower attendance, and machine utilization.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of grinders, cut-off machines, and other fettling equipment.
- Train and guide operators on standard work practices, quality requirements, and safety.




- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and material consumption, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement (Kaizen), cost reduction, and waste elimination initiatives.
- Investigate production issues and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve them promptly.
- Report daily production status, quality issues, breakdowns, and manpower requirements to the Production Manager.
