Job Summary

Birlasoft is looking for an experienced Windchill Technical Lead / Architect to join our Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (EPLM) practice. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PTC Windchill Development, Customization, Integration, Configuration, and Data Migration across implementation, enhancement, upgrade, migration, and enterprise integration projects.

The candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Functional Consultants, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, customize, integrate, migrate, and support enterprise PLM solutions while ensuring high-quality technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Windchill Development & Customization

- Design, develop, customize, configure, and support PTC Windchill PLM solutions.
- Develop server-side and client-side customizations using Windchill APIs.
- Build custom Actions, Action Models, Validators, Filters, Data Utilities, Table Builders, Wizards, Form Processors, and UI components.
- Configure and customize Lifecycle, Workflow, Business Rules, and Windchill configurations to meet business requirements.
- Develop applications using Java/J2EE, JSP, JavaScript, XML, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, and Windchill Framework.
- Develop loaders, utilities, SQL scripts, and automation tools.
- Perform UI customization using JSP, JCA, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop unit test cases, functional test cases, and support SIT, UAT, Go-Live, and Hypercare activities.
- Deploy, debug, and optimize code following development best practices.

Windchill Data Migration

- Define and execute end-to-end Windchill Data Migration strategies and architecture.
- Perform source system assessment and Source-to-Target Mapping for Windchill, Teamcenter,



Agile PLM, and other PLM systems.
- Execute Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) migrations including ETL, data transformation, rehearsal migrations (RH1/RH2/RH3), production migration, delta migration, cutover, and hypercare.
- Develop SQL transformation scripts, migration utilities, validation reports, and reconciliation scripts.
- Analyze migration logs, staging data, data quality issues, duplicates, relationship breaks, and resolve migration defects.
- Support migration validation, defect resolution, reruns, and production cutover.

Windchill Integration

- Design and implement integrations between Windchill and SAP, Oracle ERP, MES, and third-party enterprise applications.
- Develop integrations using Windchill APIs, ESI, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, ODATA, and Swagger.
- Support Product Structure Management, BOM synchronization, CAD integration, Release to Manufacturing, Product Analytics, and Process Management.
- Design ESI integrations, SUMA, and Part Classification solutions.

Technical Leadership

- Understand business requirements and prepare technical design documents.
- Capture user requirements, functional specifications, and solution design documents.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical estimations, and solution reviews.
- Mentor developers and migration consultants.
- Coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Follow Agile/Scrum methodology and DevOps/CI/CD best practices.
- Ensure complete project documentation, knowledge transfer,



and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

- 3-17 years of experience in PTC Windchill PLM.
- Strong hands-on experience in Windchill Development, Customization, Integration, and Configuration.
- Expertise in Java, J2EE, JSP, JavaScript, SQL, and Scripting.
- Strong experience with Windchill APIs and Windchill Customization Framework.
- Valuable knowledge of Windchill Database Architecture and Windchill Object Model.
- Experience with PDMLink, MPMLink, PartsLink, Change Management, BOM, Parts, Documents, CAD, Product Structure, Workflow, and Lifecycle Management.
- Experience with XML, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, ODATA, and Swagger.
- Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle / SQL Server).
- Experience in Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM), ETL, Data Migration, Validation, and Production Cutover.
- Experience integrating Windchill with SAP, Oracle ERP, or other enterprise systems using ESI and Web Services.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
