Key Responsibilities
- Act as the custodian of clinical protocols at the unit level, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
- Lead coordination between medical and non-medical departments to deliver superior patient experience and service quality.
- Define, monitor, and implement performance parameters for doctors, including floor management and preparation of weekly/monthly duty rosters.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all clinical specialties through regular medical audits.
- Establish and oversee the effective functioning of key hospital committees, including:
- Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC)
- Academic Council
- Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee
- Quality Management Committee
- Monitor diagnostic services including Radiology, Pathology, Dental, IVF, and other allied departments to maintain quality and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper maintenance, confidentiality, and compliance of medical records and patient documentation.
- Supervise Infection Control practices and ensure compliance with NABH, statutory, and hospital standards.
- Drive hospital quality initiatives by conducting regular quality audits and implementing continuous improvement measures.
- Monitor and guide the Dietetics department to ensure high standards of nutritional care and patient satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Nursing Superintendent to ensure seamless patient admission, treatment, discharge processes, and adherence to nursing SOPs.
- Oversee the effective functioning of CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department) and ensure uninterrupted sterile supply across the hospital.
- Ensure biomedical waste management and infection prevention practices comply with all statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with the Emergency Department for medico-legal cases and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, monitor, and control the medical administration budget, compliance activities, and medical capital expenditure (CAPEX).
- Ensure timely renewal and compliance of all medical licenses, statutory approvals, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee maintenance, calibration, uptime, and lifecycle management of all medical equipment in accordance with SOPs.
- Analyze specialty-wise operational and financial performance in collaboration with the Finance team and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
- Continuously review hospital operations, identify opportunities for process improvement, enhance operational efficiency, and implement corrective measures in coordination with the Facility Director/Medical Superintendent.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI (where applicable), statutory guidelines, clinical governance, patient safety standards, and quality accreditation requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety, clinical governance, and operational excellence across the hospital.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- MBBS with PGDHHM/MHA/MBA (Hospital Administration) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in hospital operations, clinical administration, or medical services management.
- Solid knowledge of NABH/JCI standards, infection control, clinical governance, quality management, and statutory compliances.
