Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Vendor Development Engineer to identify, develop, and manage fabrication vendors across South India for PEB structural steel projects. The candidate will be responsible for vendor sourcing, capability assessment, quality compliance, cost optimization, and ensuring timely delivery as per project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and onboard new PEB fabrication vendors across South India.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, infrastructure, machinery, manpower, and production capacity.
- Conduct vendor audits and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards.
- Develop a solid vendor network for structural steel fabrication and allied works.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Quality, and Project teams for production planning.
- Monitor vendor performance on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Resolve fabrication, quality, and production-related issues with vendors.
- Ensure timely execution of fabrication orders to meet project timelines.
- Maintain vendor database, performance scorecards, and audit reports.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through alternate vendor development and process improvements.




- Visit fabrication units regularly for progress monitoring and quality inspections.

Eligibility

- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Production, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Experience: 5-10 years in Vendor Development, Procurement, or Fabrication within the PEB/Structural Steel industry.
- Experience in handling fabrication vendors is mandatory.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of PEB fabrication processes.
- Understanding of structural steel drawings and fabrication standards.

- Knowledge of welding, painting, blasting, and fabrication inspection.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and vendor management systems.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working with PEB manufacturers or structural steel fabrication companies.
- Existing network of fabrication vendors in South India.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the South region.
