Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced OTN (Optical Transport Network) Developer with strong C++ programming skills to design, develop, and maintain carrier-grade telecom networking solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in OTN technologies, transport network protocols, embedded software development, and system-level programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain OTN software modules using C++.
- Work on OTN network elements, transport systems, and control plane functionalities.
- Develop features related to OTN framing, multiplexing, mapping, and performance monitoring.
- Analyze and troubleshoot software issues in telecom transport networks.
- Participate in architecture design, code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Collaborate with system architects, verification teams, and hardware engineers.
- Optimize software performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Prepare technical documentation and support product releases.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in C++ development.
- Strong knowledge of OOP concepts, STL, multithreading, and data structures.
- Positive understanding of OTN technologies (OTUk, ODUk, OPUk, GCC, FEC, G.709).
- Experience with Layer-1 transport networking concepts.
- Knowledge of SONET/SDH, DWDM, Ethernet transport, and MPLS-TP.
- Experience working on Linux-based development environments.
- Familiarity with debugging tools such as GDB, Valgrind, and Wireshark.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with telecom equipment vendors such as Nokia, Ciena, Cisco, or Juniper Networks.
- Knowledge of embedded Linux and real-time systems.
- Experience with YANG, NETCONF, SNMP, or network management systems.
- Exposure to CI/CD, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
