Graduation & Post Graduation in Supply Chain or Operations

Strategy

• Strategize and plan to create a robust primary logistics function with an aim to drive overall effectiveness and efficiency, thereby positively impacting TLC (Total Logistics Cost)

• Work closely with the National Logistics Head in articulating the overall function strategy for logistics

• Prepare yearly budget for primary logistics department and share the same with the National Logistics Head for approval

• Implement new techniques and processes to drive overall cost effectiveness and efficiency of the function

• Drive strategic cost optimization initiatives on overall logistics spend for the regions

• Ensure focus on total delivered cost for leveraging price competitiveness capabilities

• Examine and evaluate alternate viable sources available in the regions to ensure lowest cost advantage in transportation of goods

• Ensure effective improvement in vendors business practices by understanding the key drivers of their business, and advising them on the same

Devise and implement distribution strategies (in sourcing or outsourcing, number and location of warehouses, transportation means, distribution schemes)

Primary Dispatch & Operations

• Monitor and control all activities involving transportation, stock control and the flow of goods through road and rail

• Oversee timely delivery of goods to the depots and warehouses thereby driving achievement of sales targets

• Build relationship with the regional customers both internal and external and ensure customer satisfaction to the maximum





Oversee the transporter activities and ensure regular follow ups with them for timely transportation of material to customers

• Ensure reduction in transit time and further overall process TAT reduction, by opting for use of new and advanced technology

• Ensure initiatives to automate Transportation Management Systems like lowest cost routing, real-time tracking, etc. to streamline regional logistics systems (Utilization of E-POD and E-SAARTHI application to keep logistics operations transparent and visible)

• Oversee all operational matters pertaining to warehouses, their disputes, change of rates, union issues, etc. and address all queries / issues for smooth functioning of Primary Logistics Function

• Monitor the primary performance with respect to targets set by the Sales team, and take appropriate measures to prevent/correct fluctuations in target achievement

• Periodically assess transporters credibility using parameters like financial position, market reputation, readiness to dispatch, own vehicles

Periodically conduct analysis of freights for different destinations by keeping a close vigilance on freight impacting factors like geopolitical situations, cross-borders (Inter-state Situations), Diesel impacts, Tax variation etc.

• Drive a performance driven culture – Set goals, review performance and provide feedback so as to ensure a motivated and committed team

• Develop employee capability and build functional excellence through various learning and development interventions and mentoring initiatives
