Job Summary

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for construction materials, equipment, and subcontractors for public works and commercial construction projects in the USA. The role involves coordinating with Estimation, Project Management, Suppliers, and Accounts teams to ensure timely procurement, cost optimization, and compliance with project specifications and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop procurement plans from budgets, BOQs, drawings, and specs; align with Estimation/PM teams on scope and priorities.
- Source quotes, evaluate and manage supplier/subcontractor relationships, and negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms.
- Ensure procurement matches approved drawings/submittals; track technical submittals and material approvals.
- Issue and track POs; coordinate with PMs/site teams for timely, schedule-aligned deliveries.
- Monitor procurement risks (shortages, delays) and recommend vendors based on cost, quality, and lead time.




- Maintain procurement records, tracking systems, and status reports across the material lifecycle.
- Liaise with Accounts on invoices/payments; verify invoices against POs, quotes, and delivered quantities.
- Resolve procurement issues (delays, shortages, discrepancies) and ensure compliance with specs and contracts.
- Prepare procurement/vendor performance reports and cost-saving analyses.
- Perform other assigned procurement duties.

Preferred Skills

- Public works/infrastructure procurement experience.
- Exposure to international suppliers or U.S. construction projects.
- Ability to read construction drawings/specs.
- Robust commercial and cost-optimization skills.
- Familiarity with procurement tracking/reporting tools.
