Purpose of Job

The Quality Engineer (Site) is responsible for ensuring that all civil, architectural, structural, interior, and MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and the Project Quality Plan. The role involves carrying out inspections, monitoring construction quality, maintaining quality records, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring timely closure of quality issues to achieve defect-free project delivery.

Role & responsibilities

- 1. Quality Assurance & Quality Control • Implement the Project Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures at the site. • Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. • Monitor the quality of civil, architectural, structural, and MEP works. • Verify that approved materials and equipment are used at the site. • 2. Inspection & Testing • Conduct stage-wise inspections of construction activities. • Coordinate and witness material testing and field tests. • Verify the quality of completed works before the next stage of construction. • Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and fit for use. • 3. Documentation • Maintain quality records such as Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), checklists, test reports, NCRs, SORs, and calibration records. • Prepare periodic quality reports and update project quality documentation. • 4.



Non-Conformance Management • Identify defects and non-conformities during inspections. • Raise NCRs and Site Observation Reports (SORs) where required. • Monitor corrective and preventive actions until satisfactory closure. • 5. Coordination • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on quality-related matters. • Participate in quality meetings and communicate quality issues and recommendations.

Compliance • Ensure compliance with project specifications, statutory regulations, and applicable codes and standards. • Support internal, external, and client quality audits and close audit observations. • 7. Training & Awareness • Conduct quality awareness sessions and toolbox talks for site teams. • Promote valuable construction practices and adherence to quality procedures. • 8. Drawing & Technical Review • Review shop drawings, method statements, and inspection documents before execution. • Ensure construction is carried out as per the latest approved drawings. • 9. Snagging & Handover • Conduct snagging and de-snagging inspections. • Verify completion of punch list items before project handover. • Review as-built drawings and quality handover documents. • 10. Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement • Ensure quality activities are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. • Identify quality risks, minimize rework, and recommend improvements to enhance project quality.
