- The Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) will be responsible for the regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of the hospitals electrical systems, including wiring, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels, backup generators, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, ensuring uninterrupted power supply and strict adherence to safety standards
- The role involves overseeing and maintaining emergency power systems, conducting routine testing of generators, emergency lighting, and backup power arrangements to ensure readiness during power failures
- The engineer will promptly diagnose and resolve electrical faults, particularly in critical areas such as operation theatres, patient care units, ICUs, and medical equipment rooms, minimizing downtime while ensuring patient and staff safety
- Responsibilities also include assisting with the installation of recent electrical equipment, lighting, and wiring systems, as well as upgrading existing infrastructure to meet growing hospital needs and technological advancements, while ensuring full compliance with hospital policies, local building codes,



and national electrical safety standards
- The position requires continuous monitoring of energy consumption and implementation of energy-effective measures such as LED lighting and system upgrades to support cost control and sustainability initiatives
- The engineer will collaborate closely with maintenance teams, biomedical engineers, and hospital administration to coordinate electrical requirements, support specialized electrical setups for medical equipment, and communicate planned shutdowns or maintenance schedules effectively
- Accurate documentation and record-keeping of inspections, repairs, audits, and system performance are essential, with regular reporting to senior management on electrical reliability and risks
- Additionally, the role includes supervising and training junior electrical or maintenance staff, conducting safety audits, and providing basic electrical safety training to hospital staff to ensure a safe and compliant working environment
