Job Description

Zerowings Aerospace was founded on a simple belief: India should not depend on anyone else for the autonomous UAVs that guard its coastline and borders. Our team brings experience from AWS, P&G;, Boeing, and Caterpillar, and we build unmanned aircraft from first principles: maritime VTOL platforms, Drone-in-a-Box autonomous systems, and industrial drones for solar farms, wind turbines, and facades.

We are hiring our founding embedded systems engineer. This is the first engineering hire for the electronics function, and the avionics discipline will be built around you. The boards you design and the firmware you write will fly over the Indian coastline within months of joining, not years. You will own every step, from architecture, schematic, PCB, firmware, integration, to flight test, and your decisions will become the DNA of every aircraft we build.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design the electronics inside our drones, from the first circuit diagram to the final production-ready board
- Write flight-critical firmware in Embedded C on ARM microcontrollers; it has to work every time,



because it flies
- Select every component on the board, balancing power, heat, cost, and availability; if a part cannot be sourced, the design does not ship
- Assemble and hand-test your own boards; soldering iron, oscilloscope, and logic analyser are daily tools
- Test designs rigorously on the bench, on the ground, and in flight; root-cause every failure and fix it permanently
- Replace imported electronics with Indian-made alternatives: find and qualify local suppliers, and document every design to defense-grade standards

Required Candidate Profile

- 2 to 3 years of experience at a drone/UAV company, OR a fresh graduate from an IIT/NIT with serious student team experience (robotics, aeromodelling, electronics, or similar)
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline, or clear evidence of exceptional ability
- Strong command of circuit design and MCU-based embedded systems
- Fluent in Embedded C, one EDA platform (Altium, KiCad, or Eagle), standard protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN), and lab instrumentation
- Willing to live at the bench and at outdoor flight test sites, and to work long hours when a board bring-up, test window, or customer trial demands it
- Preferred: hands-on experience with power electronics, BMS, and motor drives; RF modules; EMI/EMC awareness; DFM/DFT
- Bring proof of work: anything you've built that works. Show us, don't tell us.
