n About the Role
n Puzzolana is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance mechanical systems and components for crushing, screening, and material handling equipment used in mining, aggregates, and infrastructure industries.
n This role requires strong expertise in mechanical design, heavy machinery, CAD/CAE tools, and manufacturing processes, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers and drive product innovation.
n Key Responsibilities
n Develop 3D models, manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, and related equipment.
n Perform design calculations, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), stress analysis, and validation of heavy-duty mechanical components.
n Optimize product designs for durability, performance, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.
n Collaborate closely with production, quality, procurement,



and service teams to ensure seamless product development and execution.
n Support prototype development, testing, commissioning, and field performance validation.
n Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
n Troubleshoot design-related issues and implement continuous product improvements.
n Mentor and guide junior engineers while promoting technical excellence within the team.
n Required Qualifications
n Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
n 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in heavy machinery, mining equipment, construction equipment, crushing plants, or material handling systems.
n Strong hands-on experience with CAD/CAE tools such as:
n n Creo
n SolidWorks
n CATIA
n ANSYS
n n Good understanding of:
n n Crushers and screening equipment
n Material handling systems
n Welding and fabrication
n Castings and machining
n Assembly and manufacturing processes
