Job Description: A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the steel manufacturing industry is a strategic leader who oversees all financial operations, plant accounting, and cost control . They drive profitability by managing working capital, optimizing supply chain costs, mitigating commodity and forex risks, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance. - Plant Accounting & Costing: Monitor production costs, inventory valuation, and margin analysis specific to blast furnaces or rolling mills. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Financial Strategy & Forecasting: Develop annual operating budgets, manage cash flows for capital-intensive expansions, and forecast economic trends. [1, 2, 3]
- Working Capital & Treasury: Optimize liquidity, oversee banking operations, secure term loans for equipment, and manage trade finance. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Taxation & Compliance: Ensure adherence to GST, Income Tax (Ind AS), ROC regulations, and environmental compliance norms. [1, 2]
- Risk Management:



Mitigate risks related to raw material price volatility (iron ore, coking coal) and foreign exchange fluctuations. [1, 2]
- ERP Implementation: Lead financial digitization, utilizing platforms like SAP or Oracle to integrate plant metrics with financial data. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Qualifications
- Education: Qualified CA, CMA, or MBA in Finance from a reputed institution.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or CFO role within the metals/steel sector.
