Job Description: An Electrician in a foundry plant installs, maintains, and repairs heavy-duty electrical equipment. They troubleshoot breakdowns, handle preventive maintenance on machinery like induction furnaces and motors, and ensure all systems comply with industrial safety and electrical codes. - Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections on transformers, circuit breakers, control panels, and wiring. [1]
- Breakdown Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical malfunctions rapidly using testing devices to minimize plant downtime. [1, 2]
- Equipment Maintenance: Service and repair heavy machinery including induction furnaces, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and PLCs. [1, 2, 3]
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and regional electrical safety regulations, ensuring the proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures. [1, 2]
- Record Keeping:



Log maintenance activities, track parts usage, and report equipment performance to the maintenance supervisor. [1, 2]

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: ITI certificate, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or completion of an industrial electrical apprenticeship.
- Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience in heavy industry or manufacturing settings.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Physical Demands: Capacity to work in hot, noisy, heavy-industrial environments and perform physically demanding tasks like lifting heavy objects.
