Job Description: Job Title: Metal Yard Supervisor Reports to: Operations Manager/Plant Manager Location: Metal recycling facility, scrapyard, or manufacturing plant Job Summary: The Metal Yard Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the metal yard, ensuring efficient and secure processing, storage, and shipment of metals. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage a team of yard workers, equipment operators, and maintenance personnel. Key Responsibilities:

- Operations Management

- Supervise metal yard operations, including receiving, processing, and shipping of metals.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

- Monitor production levels, quality, and efficiency.

- Team Management

- Lead and supervise a team of yard workers, equipment operators, and maintenance personnel.

- Train, motivate, and evaluate employee performance.

- Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and enforce disciplinary actions when necessary.

- Safety and Risk Management

- Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.





- Conduct regular safety inspections and investigations.

- Implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.

- Quality Control

- Monitor metal quality, grading, and sorting.

- Ensure accurate weighing, labeling, and documentation.

- Implement quality control procedures to minimize errors.

- Inventory Management

- Oversee metal inventory, tracking receipts, shipments, and stock levels.

- Ensure accurate inventory reporting and reconciliation.

- Equipment Maintenance

- Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure equipment is in good working condition.

- Schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements.

- Customer Service

- Interact with customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues.

- Ensure customer satisfaction and build relationships.

- Administrative Tasks

- Complete daily reports, production records, and other documentation.

- Participate in performance reviews, goal setting, and budgeting.
