Job Description n Review/preparation and completion of VAT filings, ensuring payment of final VAT liability is made on a timely basis.
n Ensuring tax office audit queries are properly addressed and resolved with the authorities.
n Extracting AP/AR reports; performing critical invoice VAT checks; identifying and resolving issues, initiating remediation, where required.
n Analysing data and translating it into meaningful information, including sampling and variance analyses, where required.
n Ability to apply VAT technical skills to identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities.
n Data cleansing/formatting to align with external VAT compliance provider requirements and/or templates.
n Training of AP/AR teams.
n A keen interest in identifying and resolving issues with ERP system.
n VAT control account reconciliations, including advising of profit and loss aspects of FX differences and irrecoverable VAT as required.
n Processing journal entries.
n Active participation on business calls and meetings,
driving issue resolution as required.
n Preparing trackers, dashboards, etc.
n Planning/prioritization of workload.
n Providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress.
n Liaison with internal tax/finance teams and external VAT compliance providers.
n Online return filing.
n n Qualifications:
n Your Knowledge/Skill/Experience Requirements:
n n UK/EU VAT knowledge – in particular, cross border supplies of goods and services, VAT invoices, VAT rates, VAT recovery, VAT reverse charge, VAT domestic reverse charge.
n UK/EU VAT compliance experience – VAT returns, statistical returns, etc.
n ERP knowledge/experience (ideally Workday).
n Ability to manipulate and interrogate data.
n Ability to perform VAT checks on AP/AR invoices.
n Knowledge and proficient understanding of taxing software and tools
