Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a DevOps PaaS - OpenShift Administratorwith 7+ years of experiencein platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure administration, and cloud migration. The role will focus on installing, automating, managing, and supporting large-scale OpenShift clusters and Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments.The position will contribute to business objectives by improving platform availability, deployment automation, infrastructure consistency, application migration, operational resilience, security, and scalability across enterprise environments.

Software Requirements

Required

- Minimum7+ years of experiencein DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure administration, cloud engineering, or a related technical role.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments;8+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, automating, upgrading, and managing large-scale OpenShift clusters.
- Strong practical experience with:
- Terraform.
- Jenkins.
- Ansible.
- GitOps-based configuration management and deployment.

- Experience migrating applications to cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift administration, cluster operations, troubleshooting, scaling, high availability, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with API communication using REST and SOAP.
- Ability to develop or configure API consumers and publishers.
- Knowledge of infrastructure concepts, networking, compute, storage, operating systems, and platform dependencies.
- Experience with configuration management, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code.

Overall Responsibilities

- Install, configure, automate, manage, and support large-scale OpenShift clusters and PaaS environments.
- Maintain high availability, reliability, scalability, security, and operational performance of OpenShift platforms.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management using Ansible.
- Design, implement, and manage Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-driven deployment processes.
- Create and maintain Helm charts, Argo CD configurations, Jenkinsfiles, and deployment automation.
- Support the migration of applications from existing environments to cloud and OpenShift platforms.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, security, infrastructure, operations, and application teams to define platform requirements.
- Troubleshoot cluster, networking, storage, deployment, configuration, API, certificate, and application platform issues.
- Support REST and SOAP API communication and develop or configure API consumers and publishers where required.
- Configure and maintain DNS, SSL/TLS, certificates, load balancers, firewalls, identity integrations, and secrets-management capabilities.

Day-to-Day Activities

- Administer OpenShift clusters, review platform health, manage configurations, troubleshoot incidents, and support high availability, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Helm, and Argo CD automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and GitOps deployments.
- Collaborate with development, security, infrastructure, application, and operations teams through technical reviews, migration planning, release activities, and incident discussions.
- Monitor platform performance, validate DNS, certificates, API, network, and security configurations, maintain documentation, and make implementation decisions within approved standards.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent qualified experience may be considered.
- Minimum7+ years of experiencein DevOps, platform engineering, OpenShift administration, cloud engineering, or related technical roles.
- Certifications in OpenShift, Kubernetes, cloud computing, Terraform, Ansible, DevOps, or security are preferred.
