Responsibilities
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign applicable medical codes.
- Utilize Evaluation and Management (E&M;) codes for IP/OP services.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with all regulatory guidelines and billing requirements.
- Maintain updated coding books and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify documentation.
- Participate in coding audits and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
- Assist in resolving any coding -related issues that impact the billing process.
Qualifications
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Qualified Coder (CPC) credential.
- Proven experience in E&M; coding for in -patient and out -patient services.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Familiarity with healthcare billing and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation.
- Effective communication skills for provider interactions.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
