Job Description:
Client Acquisition & Lead Generation
The primary goal is to bring current companies (clients) onto the agency's roster.
Market Mapping: Identifying growing sectors in India (e.g., IT in Bangalore/Pune, Manufacturing in Gujarat, or Fintech in Mumbai).
Cold Outreach: Leveraging LinkedIn, email campaigns, and "warm calling" to reach HR Heads and CXOs.
Pitching: Presenting the agency’s unique value proposition, such as niche expertise or a high success rate in "hard-to-fill" roles.
Strategic Relationship Management
In the Indian market, business is often built on trust and long-term rapport.
Account Farming: Instead of just finding recent clients, BDs work to get more job mandates from existing ones.
Client Retention: Acting as the bridge between the client and the internal recruitment team to ensure expectations are met.
Networking: Attending industry events (like NASSCOM or CII meets)
to build visibility.
Commercial Negotiations
BDs are responsible for the "terms of business."
Contracting: Negotiating the commercial percentage (typically 8.33% to 15% of the candidate's annual CTC in India) and payment terms (30, 60, or 90 days).
Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Defining timelines for when the first set of resumes will be shared.
Internal Coordination
A BD qualified doesn't work in a vacuum; they must sync with the "Delivery" team.
Job Briefing: Explaining the client's "culture fit" and technical requirements to the recruiters so they don't waste time on the wrong candidates.
Feedback Loop: Relaying client feedback back to the team to refine the search.
