Designation Daycare Facilitator Work type Full-time On-site work Time 12noon - 8pm Reports to Center Head Overview A Daycare Facilitator is responsible for providing a safe nurturing and stimulating environment for young children typically ranging from infants to preschool age The teacher s role is to support the children s physical emotional social and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities ensuring they are cared for while fostering their learning and growth The daycare teacher promotes a structured yet flexible routine engages in educational activities and encourages positive behaviour all while maintaining open communication with parents and guardians Key Responsibilities 1 Preparation and Classroom Setup Arrive early to prepare the classroom for the day ensuring materials and resources are ready for planned activities Set up stations for activities art puzzles sensory play etc and ensure the classroom is safe and clean Greet children and parents as they arrive making sure each child feels welcomed and secure 2 Supervision and Care Actively supervise children throughout the day ensuring their safety and well-being during activities meals and outdoor play Monitor children s emotional and physical needs offering comfort and support when necessary Assist children with tasks like using the bathroom washing hands eating and dressing 3 Facilitate Educational and Play Activities Lead age-appropriate educational activities such as reading singing art projects or hands-on learning Provide opportunities for free play and exploration which encourages creativity and social interaction Organize group activities to help children develop social skills like sharing taking turns and problem-solving 4 Support Social and Emotional Development Encourage positive social interactions and teach children important skills like conflict resolution expressing emotions and understanding others feelings Guide children in building relationships with their peers through cooperative play and group activities 5 Meal and Snack Times Supervise children during meal and snack times ensuring they eat healthy meals practice good table manners and follow proper hygiene e g washing hands before eating Address any special dietary needs or allergies and ensure the environment is clean and safe during meal times 6 Rest and Nap Supervision Provide a calm quiet setting during nap or rest periods Supervise sleeping children ensuring they are comfortable safe and settled 7 Observe and Track Development Observe children s behaviour development and progress throughout the day documenting milestones social interactions and any concerns Take note of children s individual needs and adjust activities or teaching strategies to support their growth 8 Classroom Management Manage the classroom environment by setting clear expectations for behaviour and reinforcing positive behaviour Use appropriate discipline strategies to help children understand boundaries and develop good habits Clean up and organize the classroom as needed throughout the day to keep it tidy and safe 9 Communication with Parents Communicate with parents during drop-off and pick-up times providing updates on the child s day progress and any concerns Share observations about children s behaviours achievements or areas that may need attention Send home updates newsletters or reports about activities themes and the child s development 10 Prepare for the Next Day Plan and prepare materials or activities for the following day ensuring the environment is set up for the next round of learning and play Clean and sanitize toys furniture and learning materials to maintain a hygienic environment 11 Career development and Team Collaboration Participate in staff meetings training or professional development opportunities as scheduled Work closely with other daycare teachers and staff to ensure consistent care and a collaborative approach to children s learning 12 Reporting Mechanism A Daycare Facilitator is required to report directly to the Centre Head for all communications and operational matters In the absence of the Centre Head the facilitator must report to the Centre Coordinator 13 Code of Conduct At no point should a Daycare Facilitator shout scream or raise their voice at children staff or parents Physical interactions such as kissing or holding hands tightly with children are strictly prohibited and must be avoided at all times Physical Requirements 1 Ability to actively engage with children on the floor and during outdoor activities 2 Ability to lift and carry children if needed 3 Stand or sit for long periods and move around the classroom Key Traits for Success 1 A genuine love for working with children and a
