experienced Power Plant Design Engineer specializing in gas and steam turbine machinery selection to join our innovative team The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing power plant systems focusing on the selection and integration of gas and steam turbines This role requires a deep understanding of turbine technology performance parameters and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and reliable power generation Candidate should have worked for execution of Basic Conceptual Engineering and EPC modes of execution for Indian and International projects The candidate shall be conversant in the development review and finalization of critical project deliverables like Design Criteria Design calculations example flow and pressure-drop calculations System sizing calculations for steam and water cycle preparation of material requisition technical bid evaluation and vendor design review and approval Major Responsibilities Design and optimize power plant systems with a focus on Gas and Steam turbine machinery Select appropriate turbines based on performance parameters efficiency and project requirements Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for turbine selection and integration Collaborate with project managers engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution Develop and review technical specifications design documents and engineering drawings Ensure compliance with industry standards safety regulations and environmental guidelines Provide technical support during installation commissioning and operational phases Proficiency in software application such as GateCycle7TM GT PRO and ST PRO for gas turbine combined cycle and cogeneration plant design and optimization Supporting the project through construction and commissioning phases Participating in IDC process Interaction with Engineering disciplines Clients PMC Bidders Vendors Resolving Vendor Site queries Interaction with Inspection Agencies Expeditors other agencies for delivery of Equipment Travel to help activities at other engineering offices supplier s works construction site Education and Experience Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university 12 years of relevant work experience The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type expiry date Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated Required Knowledge and Skills Understanding of Inspection requirements Review of shop and site test procedures Understand various types of materials to be used for different services and review of vendor proposed materials Familiarity with model reviews and use of SPR is desirable Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects Ability to quickly provide data for carrying out preliminary detailing estimation by Mechanical and other Engineering disciplines Trouble shooting resolution of Client and site queries Knowledge assessment of Suppliers capabilities Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders
