The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment in all operations of Sewage Treatment Plant STP Effluent Treatment Plant ETP Water Treatment Plant WTP Demineralization DM Plant and Valve systems The role focuses on accident prevention regulatory compliance training and safety audits to achieve zero-harm operations Key Responsibilities Implement and monitor health safety environment HSE policies across all plants Conduct risk assessments hazard identification and job safety analysis for plant operations Ensure compliance with Factories Act Pollution Control Board norms OSHA standards and other statutory regulations Supervise safe handling and storage of chemicals electrical equipment valves pipelines and machinery Conduct toolbox talks safety training and awareness programs for engineers operators and technicians Monitor use of PPE Personal Protective Equipment and enforce safety discipline on-site Lead incident accident investigations prepare reports and recommend corrective actions Conduct fire drills mock drills and emergency preparedness exercises Inspect and certify safety of lifting tools electrical panels confined spaces and high-risk work areas Maintain HSE records permits and statutory documentation for audits and management Liaise with government safety inspectors and external auditors during inspections Key Skills Competencies Solid knowledge of industrial safety standards in water wastewater treatment plants Hands-on experience in HIRA safety audits emergency planning and incident management Familiarity with PPE usage chemical handling confined space entry lock-out tag-out LOTO procedures Solid observation analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and training skills Eligibility B E Diploma in Safety Industrial Environmental Engineering NEBOSH IOSH Fire Safety certifications preferred 2-5years of safety experience in STP ETP WTP DM plants utilities or heavy industries Job Type Full-time Work Location In person
